The parades, known locally as Krewes, actually start two weeks before "Fat Tuesday". Although parade schedules may change, these last four days of the Mardi Gras celebration have the best Krewes, including Rex, Bacchus, Orpheus, Proteus, Zulu, Thoth, Babylon and Endymion.
