The touring destinations and guides recommended by Almeda  Travel heightened the overall experience of our travel. The travel arrangements, logistics and hotel accommodations coordinated by Rey Alton of Almeda Travel were excellent.

As a member of the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church Africa Project (WAAP) delegation, I participated in a missionary trip to South Africa developed by Almeda Travel, to build collaborative relationships and initiatives with local government, community and non-profit organizations and elevate the quality of life for the people in strategic areas of disrepair.

While our primary focus was community service, we also had an opportunity to experience and appreciate the many different cultures of South Africa thanks to the services of Almeda Travel.

During our trip, we visited Nelson Mandela’s residence, the Apartheid Museum and other cultural parks and centers. While in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa our 40-member delegation visited the communities of Soweto, Hillbrow, Troyeville and Goodwood. In partnership with The Door of Hope and the I Can Foundation, we initiated social service projects with food, clothing and house furnishings to enhance the lives and futures of African children in those communities.

As I reflect on the heartfelt experience of the WAAP trip, it brought me closer to church members that under normal circumstances would most likely not have happened. This trip was a wonderful journey filled with love, fellowship, new cultural experiences and lots of blessings. I can’t wait to work with Almeda Travel from my next travel opportunity.
